The motor rotor is the core rotating component within an electric motor. Motors consist of two main parts—the rotor and the stator—and motor rotors are broadly categorized into those used in electric motors and those used in generators. Currently, the market price for recycling scrap motor rotors stands at approximately 5,000 RMB per ton. Given that the current price of copper exceeds 30,000 RMB per ton—and that one ton of scrap motor rotors yields approximately 0.25 tons of copper—the profit margins are substantial, and the sector holds promising prospects for future growth.
Scrap motor rotors contain significant quantities of pure copper wire. However, due to their bulky size and complex internal structure, these materials are notoriously difficult to dismantle manually. Motor rotor recycling equipment, leveraging powerful crushing capabilities, enables the complete separation of the copper and iron components contained within the rotors. Consequently, motor rotor recycling lines have emerged as one of the most sought-after types of equipment in the recycling market today.
The motor rotor crushing and recycling line employs a physical method of crushing and sorting. Materials—such as scrap motor stator windings that have undergone preliminary manual sorting—are transported via conveyor to a two-stage crushing system (primary and secondary). A high-intensity magnetic drum separator is then utilized to separate the silicon steel laminations from the copper mixture. The steel-copper mixture is subsequently conveyed to a crusher for further processing and refinement, yielding a product of higher purity. Finally, the material is transported to an airflow separator, which effectively separates the mixture into high-purity copper granules and a small quantity of residual impurities.
