SUNYGROUP’s PV panel pyrolysis process is a dry recycling technology developed specifically for the recovery of retired photovoltaic modules. The core of the process involves using pyrolysis to completely break down the highly adhesive EVA encapsulant film, thereby enabling the separation of high-purity silicon wafers and metals.
This pyrolysis method addresses a key industry challenge: the difficulty of separating the EVA film. The process begins by removing the junction box and aluminum frame; the PV panels are then transported via a conveyor system into a continuous decomposition furnace for heat treatment, where precise temperature control is used to decompose the EVA film. The resulting mixture—containing glass, crystalline silicon wafers, copper-tin solder ribbons, and other materials—is collected separately through a multi-stage sorting system. Although the pyrolysis method entails relatively higher energy consumption, it offers significant advantages in terms of material separation purity and recovery rates.
