Scrap lithium batteries—including ternary lithium, lithium iron phosphate (LFP), 18650 cells, and pouch cells—contain valuable metals such as cobalt, nickel, lithium, copper, and aluminum. However, improper handling can lead to electrolyte evaporation and thermal runaway, easily causing fires and environmental pollution.
A Nigerian client ordered a fully automated physical recycling system for scrap lithium batteries from SUNYGROUP. The system has completed assembly and performance testing at the SUNYGROUP factory and has officially passed the factory acceptance inspection.
To meet local operating conditions in Nigeria and the client’s requirements for high safety, high recovery rates, and low operation and maintenance costs, SUNYGROUP’s R&D team tailored a fully enclosed physical processing solution. During the equipment commissioning and quality inspection phases, the client conducted a remote acceptance check via video. The client reported that the system’s performance exceeded expectations and highly praised both the equipment and the sales service provided by SUNYGROUP.
With the recycling line now completed and shipped, SUNYGROUP’s after-sales engineering team is ready to travel to the site upon the equipment’s arrival to assist with installation and commissioning, ensuring the successful implementation of the client’s lithium battery recycling project in Nigeria.
