Recently, a client from Italy visited the SUNYGROUP factory to observe a trial run of the company’s photovoltaic (PV) panel recycling equipment. The two parties engaged in in-depth discussions regarding market prospects, policy incentives, and the practical implementation of SUNYGROUP’s automated PV recycling technology.
Decommissioned PV panels are by no means mere “waste” that is difficult to handle; rather, they represent a valuable repository of scarce resources. Spent PV modules contain up to 70% high-transmittance tempered glass, as well as highly scarce high-purity silicon powder and precious metals such as silver and copper. Recent stringent EU regulations strictly limit the direct landfilling of PV panels, making PV recycling a mandatory compliance requirement for local enterprises.
In SUNYGROUP’s automated testing workshop, the technical team demonstrated the fully automated recycling process for decommissioned PV panels to the Italian client. The production line utilizes a dry physical separation process that generates zero industrial wastewater. Equipped with pulse dust collection and airflow purification systems, it fully complies with European environmental standards, thereby significantly reducing the hurdles associated with environmental impact assessments and compliance costs for setting up a plant locally.
After witnessing the equipment in operation, the Italian client highly praised SUNYGROUP’s PV panel recycling process. A preliminary letter of intent for cooperation has already been signed.
