Recently, SUNYGROUP welcomed a delegation of clients from India. The primary objective of their visit was to evaluate firsthand the unique technical advantages of SUNYGROUP’s tire shredders—specifically regarding the handling of high-strength bead wire, continuous low-energy operation, the durability of wear-resistant blades, and the purity of the output material.
Scrap tires are notoriously difficult to process due to their composition, which includes high-strength coarse steel wire mesh, nylon fibers, and wear-resistant synthetic rubber. In SUNYGROUP’s heavy-duty equipment testing workshop, the technical team demonstrated the automated shredding process for a full range of tires, including large passenger car tires, truck tires, and off-the-road (OTR) tires.
For extra-large truck tires, a heavy-duty hydraulic wire extractor uses powerful grapples to completely pull out the thick, circular bead wires from both sides of the tire within just 10 seconds, significantly reducing the mechanical load on the subsequent shredder. The tire is then fed into the core dual shaft tire shredder. Driven by high torque at low speeds, two interlocking shafts equipped with carbide blades instantly tear and shear the tough, wire-reinforced rubber into uniform 50–80mm rubber chunks. These shredded chunks enter a rotary screen; pieces meeting size specifications are discharged directly for the subsequent steel separation and grinding stages, while oversized pieces are automatically returned to the shredding chamber via a conveyor belt for re-shredding, ensuring consistent output particle size.
On-site, both parties reached a clear consensus on cooperation regarding the plant layout and technical details of the fully automated scrap tire shredding and sorting line, joining forces to pioneer a new era in scrap tire recycling!
