How to properly recycle the ACSR wire?

ACSR is a reinforced conductor consisting of single or multiple layers of aluminum strands stranded around a galvanized steel core. The inner component is a high-strength galvanized steel core (providing mechanical tension to prevent sagging or breakage), while the outer component consists of highly conductive aluminum wires (responsible for power transmission).

ACSR recycling equipment

To handle this specific type of material, SUNYGROUP has developed specialized recycling equipment capable of effectively processing scrap ACSR. The entire process requires neither water washing nor incineration, making it both eco-friendly and highly efficient.

The ACSR recycling equipment effectively separates the steel core from the aluminum wires. The resulting mixture is transported via a conveyor belt through a high-intensity magnetic separator (such as an overhead magnetic separator or a magnetic pulley). The internal steel (the core) is strongly magnetic and is attracted to the magnet for separate collection, while the non-magnetic aluminum wires continue moving forward along the belt.

The recovered aluminum is of extremely high purity; it can be used directly to smelt recycled aluminum alloy ingots or to manufacture aluminum deoxidizing rods, commanding a high market price. Meanwhile, the high-quality scrap steel is sold directly to steel mills for smelting and is highly sought after in the market.
