Laminated glass consists of two or more layers of glass bonded together with a strong PVB (polyvinyl butyral) interlayer. Due to the interlayer’s high adhesion, traditional crushing methods often result in difficulties separating the glass from the film or leave excessive glass residue, significantly reducing the value of the recycled materials.
To address this industry challenge, the SUNYGROUP R&D team custom-designed an automated laminated glass recycling production line for the Russian client. By employing multiple stages of physical separation and precision sorting technologies, the system achieves high-value resource recovery.
The laminated glass recycling equipment has now been successfully manufactured and has passed quality inspections. The Russian client visited the factory to inspect the machinery and conducted a full-process operational test of the entire production line.
During the test, staff fed various samples of waste automotive laminated glass into the system. Once started, the equipment operated smoothly with seamless coordination between stages, rapidly completing the entire process—from feeding, separation, and sorting to the final packaging of products. Client representatives personally conducted spot checks on the purity of the resulting glass fragments and PVB film, expressing great satisfaction with the separation results and the exceptionally high recovery rate.
